Two continents, one working day

Australian founders, US operations. The time zones are not a complication. They are how the firm runs.

Delmonte was founded by Australians and operates from the United States, with clients in both markets. On paper that looks like a scheduling problem. In practice it is the operating rhythm of the firm.

An Australian morning is a US afternoon. Work scoped at the end of an American day is being executed while that client sleeps, and the results are waiting when they wake up. Reporting, analysis and creative iterations move through the quiet hours. The overlap windows, morning in Nashville and evening in Australia, are kept for the conversations that need people in a room together.

Running this way forces habits that are good for clients regardless of geography. Decisions get written down, because a hallway conversation cannot cross the Pacific. Handovers are explicit. Nothing important lives in one person's head overnight, which is a useful discipline for a firm whose whole promise is that nothing gets delegated away from the people who own the work.

We did not invent the schedule as a strategy. It is simply what the firm is. But we have stopped apologising for it, because the brands we work with get a working day that is closer to twenty hours than eight.
